Indonesia is not just Bali. There are many other interesting places that worthy of seeing next time you visit Indonesia. The following list might help you figure out what Indonesian Archipelago offers you.
Indonesian Archipelago extends from Sumatera to Papua Island. The list below is in no way exhaustive.

Lake Toba, North Sumatera
Lake toba is a caldera, formed by a volcanic eruption. Located in North Sumatera Province, Sumatera island, in western part of Indonesian archipelago, Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world with 100 km long and 30 km wide and 505 deepest point.
The volcanic eruption that formed Lake Toba is recorded in Geology history as a one of the largest supervolcanic eruption in the world. The eruption occurred in about 75,500 years ago and had cause massive climate changes and, consequently a change of the face of living being on earth. In the centre of the lake there is an island named Samosir.

Today, Lake Toba offers astoundingly beautiful panorama. The view of the traditional houses with roofs imitating form of ship is no less beautiful. Lake Toba inhabitants also include various families of fishes. The scene may offer a great escape for those who want to run away from the buzz of busy life.

Jogjakarta and Central Java

Jogjakarta and Central Java Province in Java Island, offer many cultural and historic tourism objects. This includes magnificent temples built since the ancient era of Javanese monarchy in the 7th century. The most famous temples are Borobudur and Prambanan Temple. Many other smaller temples are scattered through the province.
Besides temples, Jogjakarta and Central Java offers various cultural exhibitions such as traditional dance, art and craft, sultanate palace, and off course, don't forget to buy some traditional fabric called Batik once you pay a visit in this area.

Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi
Tana Toraja in South Sulawesi has a rich and fascinating tradition, in particular those related to the funeral ceremony. The ceremony is celebrated in such a grand way. The sacrifices of farm animals such as cows, sheep, chicken in huge numbers is made. The largest the number of animal sacrifices reflects the higher rank of the family conducting the ceremony. The body of the decease will then be buried inside the cave in hillside. The traditional house of Tana Toraja called Tongkonan is also very beautiful, rich with ornament and crafting. The ornament mostly made of horn of cows. The ornament and rafting in the house is all symbolic, telling the stories of the value of the life of Toraja people and the status of the house owner.

Komodo National Park, Nusa Tenggara
The Park is actually consisting of 3 islands, Komodo, Padar and Rinca Island. Located in Nusa Tenggara province, it has been recognized as the original habitat of Komodo, a species of reptile which had survived since pre-historic era. An adult Komodo can weight 70kgs with 3 m length. If you get lucky, you may witness how komodo have its lunch.
The national park also housed various species of fish, shark, dolphin, sea turtle, reef and coral. Thus, besides seeing Komodo, you may also experience an unforgettable snorkeling experience. In addition, you can visit the local traditional village to experience how the native people live.

Kalimutu National Park, Flores
The park located in Flores Island, Nusa Tenggara. Mount Kalimutu is the habitats of many species of flora and fauna including eagle and birds. At the peak of Mount Kalimutu there are phenomenal 3 different colours lakes The colour of the lakes changes from time to time.
Kalimantan

If you are looking for adventure in one of the largest tropical rain forest in the world, you must visit Kalimantan which is also known as Borneo Island. Orangutan, one of the "great ape" species live in this island. In Martapura, South Kalimantan there is a central market of diamond produced in the area.

Nias, North Sumatera
Consist of 1 major island and hundreds of small island, this region offers beautiful sandy beaches, and great place for surfing. In addition, the island is also very rich in tradition. Traditional beautiful houses, traditional warrior dancing, traditional "lompat batu" ceremony and other tradition and artifact originating from the ages of megalithic


Bunaken National Park, North Sulawesi
Bunaken is an island located in Manado bay, North Sulawesi. This ocean park housed many ocean species with the highest diversity in the world. Scuba diving is the most sought activity in this park. There are also 12 diving spot in Bunaken. To the South East of the island, there is an underwater great wall which is a high vertical giant coral wall that housed and feed many ocean creatures.
