Danau Singakarak terletak di Propinsi Sumatera Barat yang dinaungi oleh dua Wilayah yakni Kabupaten Tanah Datar dan Kabupaten Solok. Danau Singkarak merupakan danau terluas ke-2 di Sumatera setelah Danau Toba yang berada pada ketinggian 36,5 meter dari permukaan laut dan luas 129,69 km. The Evolution of an Indigenous Wooden Sailing Vessel in Indonesia The "modern" wooden 'Pinisi' type has been derived from similar craft that have been in use in Indonesia for several centuries, according to some sources since prior to the 1500's. The sailing 'Pinisi' hull form in many ways resembles a cross between two traditional American sailing vessel types, the Pinky Schooner and the Tancook Whaler, even though the 'Pinisi' hull type pre-dates those Western hull forms by centuries...
